HONEST PRICING –A MYTH IN TODAY’S DISCOUNT ERA
Marketing has always played a major role in selling products to customers- be it FMCG products, apparels or even cars. One of the key marketing tool is selling products at discounted rates to the consumers. What began as a stock clearance sale once annually for a very limited period of time has now bulged into a daily event. We hardly come across a product nowadays that does not show a certain percentage off on its MRP.
The question that we all should ask ourselves as well as the companies selling those products at year round discounted price that what is your pricing strategy? Why are you printing an unrealistic MRP on your product label? Or are you making a fool out of us?
The entire pricing strategy of these companies are covered in a smoke screen. How can any company survive by selling its products at discounted rates throughout the year? The obvious answer that stares at us loud and clear is that they are pricing their products at a highly inflated rates and then reducing it somewhat to create a pseudo satisfaction in consumer’s mind that they are getting the products at a bargain price. Whereas very likely the discounted price is also pretty inflated than what should have been the actual price of the product. We the buyers often forget to judge the product by its quality and worthiness as we are under the influence of this false happy feeling of winning a bargain. Thus at the end of the shopping expedition most of the times the buyers end up being the loser.
At INDYSOUL we thoroughly believe in honest pricing. And that’s the reason you will never find very high MRPs and year-long pseudo discounts or flash sales just to lead you into believing falsely that you have got a good bargain. Our pricing reflects our ethos of Honesty, Integrity, Transparency and our strong focus on creating Value for Money proposition for our customers. Of course we have special promotions, combo offers and celebration offers from time to time but even such offers are quite rational and transparent. We shall always be honest in our dealings with you.
